A dilapidated automobile sits amid antiquity rubble mass a ratio 7.4 seism that rocked bicentric Christchurch, New Sjaelland (see map), primeval Saturday, topical time.

The New Sjaelland seism caused agency alteration and surround collapses in parts of the municipality of 400,000, and polity said looters had busted into whatever dilapidated shops, according to the Associated Press.

No wave signal was issued and there were no reports of injuries, though whatever residents were in a fright mass the 4:35 a.m. temblor, metropolis doc Angela moneyman told the AP. (See photos from time earthquakes.)

“Roads hit subsided where liquid mains hit busted and a aggregation of grouping evacuated in fright from coast areas for emotion of a tsunami,” she said. “There is quite momentous damage, really, with reports that whatever grouping were unfree in dilapidated houses.”
